The challenge of evaluating a writing course that to date is only offered in one area of the nation was considerable. We asked parents and teachers to evaluate the materials and curriculum of this preparatory class and give us their feedback without actually attending the class. We went to great lengths to target the right testers who had a mix of experience, interest and expertise in understanding written course materials. What we found was that the curriculum was extremely well documented and in fact offered students a methodology that would effectively prepare students for high school and even give them a head start when it came to preparing for SAT's, ACT's, AP's and the like. There is an appropriate focus on reading, writing, speaking and logical skills along with essay writing, public-speaking and critical thinking. For now our testers were impressed. In the future we hope to be able to supplement this review with a more in depth, hands-on review.
