This enchanting fantasy book about a mythical family of "Rocs" (large bird like creatures) who raise a dragon from an abandoned egg. If that sounds familiar you are not alone, did anyone say Ugly Duckling? This book however is a much more fleshed out story and features some very advanced vocabulary, lending itself to children reading at a high level. Parents found the book to be interesting and creative, especially the fact that each chapter is like its own short story. This writing style really lends itself to nightly bedtime readings. The various lessons that each chapter imparts through different "Rocs" and how they interact with the dragon were appreciated by testers as well.
