ET: The Extraterrestrial DVD
Universal Home Video
One of the most beloved family films of all time has been re-mastered and released for those with DVD equipped homes. The upgrade is evident from the start, as the picture and sound are remarkably clear. Older fans of the film told us that it was a real treat to re-live the magic once again, this time with their kids. The story is as captivating as ever. The extra treats which can be found on the Disc 2 are great, especially if you really enjoy delving into the behind the scenes experience. The genius of director Steven Spielberg and the rest of the talented people who brought ET to life makes this a perfect movie for a family to own and enjoy together.
RAGGS Kids Club Pawsuuup! Video
RAGGS Kids Club Band
Are kids ready for another set of oversized singing animal characters? This is the question many of our parents had when they saw RAGGS for the first time. Their questions were answered quickly as they watched the reactions of their children. Written and produced with a good understanding of what kids expect from music videos, this tape delivers the goods. Very upbeat without any syrupy sweet stuff, every effort is made to entertain kids without talking down to them. While listing the recommended ages as up to 10 is a bit of a stretch, we were impressed to find six and seven year olds getting into the fun.
You Are Mine
Creative Trust Workshop
This Video/DVD production features some truly innovative and eye-popping animations that really impressed our testers. You Are Mine is a video that is steeped in morality as defined by Christian values. While some testers were uneasy with that, others embraced the opportunity to use this show to teach their children values that they shared. Among the topics addressed are acceptance and the dark, negative side of greed. With color, excitement and fun characters the issues are raised and addressed with regular references to "The Maker", whose presence unmistakably drives the story.
