On the surface These Hands is a sweet book about the all the different things that our hands can do. As you read this book a second and third time you realize that this book is a whole lot more. It is a stunning book illustrated with warmth and written with a message of empowerment. The little girl, whose hands we follow, is surrounded by loving images, and is able to create all kinds of wonderful things with her hands. She has the power to do positive things...as do all of us who choose to. The book is written using few words and still a powerful message is conveyed. This dictionary is filled with definitions, illustrations and color
photos for words that our kids use every day in school.
The definitions are written in a very child friendly manner and the
illustrations were extremely helpful in bringing the definitions to life.
Testers said that this dictionary featured pictures and photos of things
kids didn't know already and that was very helpful.
Kids and Parents alike really enjoyed the word history insets that helped
bring language to life. The synonym inserts were also something students felt
that they would be able to use, because it was one of the areas a lot of our
testers admitted having trouble with.
