Pat
the Bunny
Golden
Books Family Entertainment
The term "classic" is thrown around a little too
lightly these days. But when it
comes to Pat the Bunny, there really is only one word our parent testers could
utter when they saw the familiar pink, blue and white covered book.
One of the most endearing and enduring children's titles, this
interactive play/story was the first book many of our testers remembered reading
when they were young and the joy was not lost on their children.
This is not a book that you will read once a night, our little readers
asked for repeat readings over and over. We
were told several times by our parent testers that they believed that their
parents still had the copy of the book they read as children, stored away for
safe keeping.

Pat
the Bunny - 5 Red ApplesGolden
Books Family Entertainment
The Pat the Bunny series has some new title offerings.
They are, for lack of a better term, sequels, and 5 Red Apples is a
winner. With sliding plastic
apples, your little one and you will play and count along with the bunny as he
collects apples from the tree. The
familiar soft pastel colors of the book series along with the sweet simple
drawings enhance the timeless appeal of this book.
The hands-on counting play added to the experience and encourages
children to play and read along on their own.
Recommended Age: 0 to 3 Price: $7.99
Pat
the Bunny - Choo Choo Train
Golden
Books Family Entertainment
Pat the Bunny has added a choo-choo to his repertoire.
Resting above the chunky cardboard pages, the red train engine rumbles
across the top of the book to accompany the story of the little train that
travels to familiar fun places. With
his train he explores the zoo, the farm, the beach and then back home.
Little fingers loved pushing the engine to its starting point and
watching it move back across on its own. Parents
reported that their children were happy and enthusiastic participants, anxious
to play and read this book over and over.
Recommended Age: 0 to 3 Price: $7.99

As delightful and endearing as the original, Pat the
Christmas Bunny is a wonderful gift idea for the holiday.
The soft, cuddly bunny comes packaged as a plush friend to read along
with in this boxed set. The storyline has a Christmas theme that is upbeat and fun
and the same interactive play experience as the original. The familiar pastel pages are now highlighted with red and
green adding to the festive feel. Many
of our testers told us that their children were anxious to take their plush
bunny home to snuggle with in bed.

Yard
SaleDorling
Kindersley
What starts out as a perfectly innocent yard sale quickly
has the town of Spudville up in arms with dissatisfied customers. The
town's quirky characters, each of whom is delightfully illustrated, quickly
learn a lesson in not jumping to conclusions and not judging books or other
items by their covers. The lesson is a good one, and the story is a fun,
lighthearted romp that you will enjoy reading to your youngsters.

Arthur Yorinks
Hyperion
Books for Children
Wild, wacky and downright silly, this book about aliens
who drop in for dinner, much to the chagrin of their unwitting hosts Shirley and
Mo, not to mention local law enforcement and the nation's armed forces, will
have you laughing out loud. Nothing
is sacred as author Arthur Yorinks pokes fun at our fears and phobias.
Its all good-natured fun and the final scene caught each one of our
testers off guard. David Small's
illustrations are as hysterical as the story line.
